The Hollywood Entertainment District is a $2.25 million property-business improvement district (BID) spanning an 18-block stretch of Hollywood Boulevard. Funded by 210 property owners, the original BID commenced operations in 1996 and was signficantly expanded in late 1998. In September, 2001, the property owners voted to renew the BID for another two years with an unprecedented 82 percent approval. The BID will expire in December, 2003.
